SXSW Movie Night with UArizona’s Zach Lovvorn, Roxanna Denise Stevens Ibarra, and Sasha Reist

Updated: Mar 8

As part of University of Arizona’s SXSW Movie Night night, Shai and Becky had an inspiring conversation with School of Theatre, Film & Television alum and current students in front of a packed live audience. We talked to Zack Lovvorn, whose eerie sci-fi film Iris gives us serious early Cronenberg vibes, Sasha Reist who brings a dancer’s unique perspective to documentary film in her short Changement, and Roxie Denise Stevens Ibarra who masterfully plays with our heartstrings in her moving dramatic short Tesoro. We were also lucky to ask Peter Catalanotte of Film Tucson, a few insiders questions about shooting in Arizona.

Follow all of the Friday Night Movie SXSW 2023 coverage and join Becky and Shai at the Wonder House March 11-14, noon-5pm, at Café Blue Downtown Austin, courtesy of the University of Arizona.
